Story
2022 I ran the Blenheim 7 for One-Eighty, 2023 I was 7 months pregnant so thought it wise to give it a year off but this year it’s only fair for little Miss Nora to have her turn at her first ever fundraiser! Me and Nora will be entering the buggy 4 miler! Anything you can contribute towards this amazing charity I would be extremely grateful for to support both their amazing cause and me pushing a rather heavy buggy around the course!
I hope Nora never needs the support of charities like One-Eighty but it makes me so proud to be a part of one that does amazing therapeutic work with young people who do for whatever reason need that additional support.
More about One-Eighty….
One-Eighty supports young people (aged 4-18) who are persistently absent from school to re-engage with education. Without One-Eighty’s support, they will continue to be absent from education, potentially affecting the rest of their lives with pathways including permanent exclusions, criminality or acute mental health needs.
Our work supprts young people struggling with mental health conditions; experiences of trauma; bereavement; exploitation or domestic violence. Often they are also living with neurodiversity.
The British Press often call these young people ‘Ghost Children’ – missing from education and falling through the gaps in support.
Through a tailored intensive intervention, One-Eighty gives them a voice – believing all planning and decision-making should include young people and using techniques to understand, through their eyes, their situation as well as their hopes - helping them to make the most of their talents and improve their long-term outcomes.
