Story
“At this festive season of the year, Mr. Scrooge, it is more than usually desirable that we should make some slight provision for the Poor and destitute, who suffer greatly at the present time. Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundreds of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir.”
While this passage may have been written in 1843, the sentiment still holds true today. Christmas is a wonderful time filled with magic, joy, and love for many. But it can also be a time when need, sorrow, and hunger is especially felt. As stated from the other solicitor, "We choose this time, because it is a time, of all others, when Want is keenly felt, and Abundance rejoices".
If you enjoyed the performance today, then I invite you (if you have the means), to consider donating a little bit to help others in need during this Christmas season. Utah Food Bank does an amazing job in converting your money into meals for those in need. Through their partnerships and resources, they are able to turn every $1 into into so much more in goods and services for others.
