I have been thinking for a while that it was time to stop my lovely routine for a bit, take time to step back, reflect, walk alone and listen along with my 6.5kg backpack.… so much to be grateful for.

The Camino will offer me just that; to trail across the mountains, forests, vineyards and beaches of Portugal. Starting in Tomar (north of Lisbon) and finishing in Santiago de Campostela (in Spain), I'll be walking 466km in 32 days, staying in hostels for pilgrims.

Twenty years ago, walking into The Bear Church building in Deptford, South East London, changed my life and this is my way of saying thank you to God, my family and all my friends I have there. It is currently in need of a ´big’ financial boost to complete an incredible project.

Built on the legacy of eight people who started one of London's first ragged schools in 1844 with one moto: ’To the glory of God and the good of the poor’. The Ragged Project will deliver a community hub and 33 flats above the church! All socially affordable rent for young people who have a severe housing need. No Profit!

The building work is well underway but we are still in need of money to complete 'fit out'. I am so excited to see this 'home in the heart of Deptford' become a reality, please help us make it happen!
