Story
On 15 and 16 April I will be walking three sections of the Thames Path to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK. I intend to walk Goring to Pangbourne with my 88-year-old mother Fiona, and then Putney to Vauxhall and Greenwich to the Thames Barrier (16 miles in total), if my knees hold out.
I am supporting Muscular Dystrophy UK because it means a lot to me: it is the charity for the 110,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK, including my three close family members who have myotonic dystrophy, one of the most common of the muscular dystrophies.
MDUK supports people affected by more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions, via medical research to find treatments and ongoing support for those living with the conditions. I am proud to be a Trustee of Muscular Dystrophy UK and help with its work.
On 15 and 16 April, a community of walkers and runners will cover the entire 184 miles of the Thames Path to fundraise for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
