Story
The team at IE together with other friends are holding a walk in memory of our friend and colleague, Danielle
Turner in aid of Scleroderma & Raynaud's UK.
On November 9th, we will be walking 15 miles from Woolwich along the South side of the Thames Path and
then up to the IE Studio in Farringdon where we will hold a celebration of the life of Danielle.
We want to raise awareness and as much money as possible for SRUK, the only UK charity that supports
Scleroderma and Raynaud's diseases. It's a charity that Danielle herself supported due to living with both
diseases.
Scleroderma is a rare, chronic, autoimmune condition, meaning that the immune system becomes overactive
and attacks healthy tissue within the body. Raynaud's causes the small blood vessels in the hands, feet,
fingers or toes to be over-sensitive to even the slightest changes in temperature, cold conditions and
sometimes emotional stress.
There are 2.5 million people worldwide who are living with scleroderma, including around 19,000 within the
UK.
Their mission is to improve the lives of everyone affected by scleroderma and Raynaud's. They do this by
investing in research, improving awareness and understanding of the conditions and providing information
and support to all those affected. They receive no government funding, so rely on the generosity of
individuals and companies to support their work.
Insightful Environments has kindly committed to fund-match all of the monies raised by
the IE team up to £10,000 so your donated amounts will be doubled!
