I now have several close friends at different stages of a challenging journey with their Prostrate Cancer battle. For men, that is the most common form of Cancer and in the UK 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed at some point. This statistic is horrific. More so, the fact that so few of us can say our families and friends lives have not been touched in some way by Cancer.

As my way to offer support those friends in some way, I have signed up for a sponsored event to cycle the first stage of the 2025 Tour De France route, which will be 185km in one day around Lille and Flanders. Most of you know I love my cycling but this will be a significant personal challenge for me. Although, nothing of course, compared to the challenge that those friends are facing. I have committed to raising a minimum of £1500 In sponsorship and your support with this will go a long way to help me through those cold, wet, winter training rides in my bid to prepare. Moreover, every £ you can give will make a difference to the charity’s work fighting for better treatments, diagnosis, support and prevention of Prostrate Cancer.
