Story

I’ve foolishly signed up, some months ago in a moment of drunken sincerity, to cycle from London to Donnington, with The Heavy Metal Truants ride. (https://heavymetaltruants.com/)

I neither like Heavy metal, or indeed cycling these days, if I’m honest. So if anyone can spare a quid or two(and I really mean a quid or two) I’d be ever so grateful; it would make my idiotic efforts all worthwhile.

In times like these it’s always the children who suffer the most and yet they are the ones least culpable for all the ills that affect them. If in some way we can make a small difference, then me heaving my cake and wine bloated gut 175 miles on a bone rattling old bike for a couple of days will be worth it.

Here’s the official blurb. 👇

Save the Children believes that every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, they give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. They do whatever it takes for children – every day and in times of crisis – transforming their lives and the future we share.

By supporting my fundraising, you are helping to give children a brighter future. Thank you!
