As some of you may know, I am a member of the Junior Advisory Board ("JAB") for Her Justice - a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to women and children living in poverty in New York City. Her Justice's clients have been disproportionately impacted by the current pandemic and various other crises facing our country. The Her Justice staff is working hard to ensure that its client continue to receive the help they so desperately need, and the JAB is committed to supporting the organization in these efforts.

To that end, we have launched the Shift the Power Campaign with the goal of raising $1,000,000 by December 31, 2023.

For 30 years, Her Justice has advocated alongside women living in poverty. Their clients – 90% of whom are women of color, 80% of whom are survivors of intimate partner violence and 70% of whom are mothers – must navigate the civil justice system to access basic rights. Her Justice stands with them as they seek safety, stability, and self-sufficiency through New York’s civil justice system.
