Story
I am passionate about helping the sick and underprivileged in our community by supporting JDJ Charitable Foundation.
Over the last two years I've volunteered to coach with my Dad for his Sixth Grade Basketball team. I've made a very strong connection with all of the kids on the team. Unfortunately, over the last couple of weeks, I found out that one of the players was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Over the season, he was battling a cough, but I'm sure no one was thinking cancer. No child should have to battle with cancer. He is going to receive Chemotherapy, which will cause him to lose his hair. To show my support for him (and his family), I am going to shave my hair.
To give you some insight into his character -- This year, he showed an amazing improvement from the year before. He is a very respectful player that listened to the coaches and always tried to improve. On the court, he is humble but still enjoys celebrating after a big shot once in a while. He is always hustling and we (the coaches) always challenge him to push himself, which isn't a problem for him. He is the type of player who you draw the three point play for. I would love to have him back on the court next year. And I'm sure the whole team would love to have him back too. He is a great teammate, always cheering his friends on. Thankfully, the doctors believe he will make a full recovery -- I pray that they are right.
Will you help me support them during this difficult time? And assist them with any costs that might not be covered by insurance. All donations are 100% tax deductible and will truly make a difference. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. The fundraiser will be ending on Sunday the 16th. Thank you again for all of your support.
