Fundraising for Sauk County Humane Society
It was Dec 2021 when I walked into the Sauk County Humane Society looking for an addition to our family. I walked through the cat area and there were so many precious kitties all begging for my attention. There was an empty kennel on the top that I couldn't see into because I was too short ( or so I thought it was empty). I continued to look at all the cats, when I looked at what I thought was the empty kennel again and saw a little head looking at me with 1 eye. I had to see this adorable little girl. I then noticed she was also missing a leg as well as her eye. No one knew exactly what happened to her when she came into the shelter and no one was sure she could be saved. Sauk County Humane Society took action to get her checked out right away and discovered she would need a leg amputation due to a fractured back leg and the removal of her eye due to an infection or unknown injury. I fell instantly in love with this sweet girl who wouldn't stop purring, and submitted my adoption form.
It has been over 3 years now and my little Rosie is the happiest she can be, and we could not imagine life without her. She went from not knowing her fait to living in a happy, loving, safe home where she is living her best life. Just like Rosie, there are so many others that come in to the shelter in the same condition and/or worse, that need help. I believe every animal deserves a chance to be loved.
I now volunteer there and get to see all of the work and effort that goes into each and every animal every day.
I am honored to work with the Sauk County Humane Society where no animal is ever turned away. That is why I'm walking on May 3 and why I'm asking for your support.
