Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a debilitating Auto immune disease where the patients antibodies often get trapped behind the blood brain barrier, get confused, resulting in them attacking the nervous system.
The nervous system, not unlike wires, are coated with a protective layer called Myelin which gets damaged resulting in electoral signals getting distorted or in some cases completely misaligned to target destinations.
MS holds a range of symptoms making it very difficult to diagnose until the damage is done, after which survivors of MS can feel a range of daily symptoms like fatigue, pain, restlessness, the sensation of burning in nerve sensitive areas and even the total loss of control of some basic faculties.
This disease is one that isn't often spoken about but effects hundreds of thousands of people and can effect anyone at any point in life.
I also have a personal connection to MS, my wife, Hannah, has suffered with relapse and remitting MS for 19 years. Some days the fatigue can be totally debilitating despite this, she continues to be a positive force in what ever she does.
Anyone who meets Hannah knows what a joyus and caring person she is.
So for Hannah and everyone else who has MS I will be doing a streamathon on the 13th and 14th of July to raise money for the MS Society.
The MS Society are a charity that off support to MS patients and families, from Information and counselling all the way up to palliative care. The volunteers at the MS Society are truly amazing
So from myself, the MS Society and all those people who are surviving MS everyday
