Story
Hello friends and family!
Not everyone has been made aware of what’s happened in mine and Jakes life recently, I’ll start by saying that this won’t be nice to read and you don’t have to read everything.
On November 14th 2022, we had the lovely surprise of a positive pregnancy test and were overcome with joy and nerves to say the least! We went together to the 12 weeks scan on January 4th 2023, Baby was looking strong and healthy. February 7th was our private gender reveal scan, however the sonographer wasn’t happy with the lack of fluid around Baby in the womb. I was then referred to Medway hospital and got an emergency scan on Thursday 9th February to see what was going on. I’ll remember this day like it was yesterday. We got told that during this stage of the pregnancy, Baby wouldn’t have developed lungs without enough fluid with them in the womb and the chance of survival without the placenta outside of the womb would be a miracle. The risk of infection for myself was incredibly high too if I decided to continue with the pregnancy. So, with heavy hearts and a lot of tears, we knew what the right decision was.
Our beautiful Baby was born at just over 17 weeks on February 13th 2023 at 00:14am❤️ We are so grateful to have had this journey with the Baby that chose us as their parents, however short. They will be with us forever❤️
I had no idea how common it is to lose a baby at any stage of a pregnancy, especially your first and feel like it’s not talked about enough. SO, I have decided to Fundraise in the form of a LEAP OF LOVE SKYDIVE for Sands Charity and would be extremely grateful for anything anyone can participate towards this. This charity is one that helps support bereaved families through awful times like myself and Jake have experienced and I want to help people who have gone through or are going through this heartbreaking time❤️
Thank you for reading and let’s raise some money!!!
