Story
OK so last year was going to be my last charity event. I was just going to cycle Ireland to tick it off the list, to appease my Irish contingent and drink some Guinness.
Fast forward to the start of this year and very sadly and unexpectedly we lost mum at the young age of 73. Mum fought a courageous battle against breast cancer and secondaries and to quote her was "a tough old bird" and it was all "a bit of a pickle".
There are no words to explain how much I miss her but I know she would be mortified if she thought I would be moping around and to be honest that's just not my style. Therefore I really want to turn the biggest negative I have ever encountered in my life, into a MASSIVE POSITIVE celebration of the lady, I was extremely proud to call my mother.
Soooooooooo for one ride only the Beardie bikers aka Jimi & Des are going to be known as the Boobie bikers. W e are going to cycle 600 miles from Mizen Head at the bottom of Ireland to Malin Head at the top. It's known as the Wild Atlantic way and is notoriously hilly and a tad wet and windy. However wet I get though, I will ride with a humongous smile on my face, proud that Sarah Ann Dally was my mother, who helped me be the person I am today.
It will be a challenging ride but nothing compared to what people with breast cancer encounter on their personal journeys. It is pleasing to know that many more people survive Breast cancer now and this is thanks to all of the research that has gone before and continues to this day. In celebration of mum's life, it would be lovely if we could raise a couple of quid to help the research and hopefully help women and men who suffer from breast cancer have better outcomes. So anything you can spare would be tremendously marvellous and I thank you in advance for your support and encouragement.
Big Hugs
