We provide specialist care and support to people with life limiting conditions

Story

Bluebird Care Carlisle have chosen Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Children’s Hospice as our dedicated charity for 2024. We will be taking part in organised events and creating our own events through 2024 to raise much needed funds for this amazing place.

Bluebird Care Carlisle’s co-director, Sandie, is kicking off our fundraising and will be running the Carlisle Half Marathon on Sunday 17th March.

Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Children’s Hospice care for adults and children with life limiting illnesses as well as working with families, friends, carers and other professionals.

In-patient services are available to those individuals with complex problems associated with a life limiting illness. This can include physical, psychosocial, emotional or spiritual distress.

While Eden Valley Hospice cares for adults over 18 years of age, Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice provides care for children and young adults (up to 25 years old) with life limiting illnesses requiring respite, short breaks, end of life care and pre and post bereavement support.

Specialist services are delivered by a multi-professional team, including doctors, nurses, counsellors, social workers, spiritual care team, therapists and pharmacists, whose members have recognised training in palliative care and for whom palliative care is their core speciality.

The dedicated team at the hospice works tirelessly to provide comfort, care, and dignity to individuals during their most challenging times. Every day, they exemplify the true meaning of compassion, creating an environment where warmth, support, and love prevail.

As someone who has first hand experience of both caring for someone with a life limiting illness, and working with children with complex medical conditions, Sandie is all too aware of the impact this has and of the difference that the people working within a hospice such as Eden Valley can make.

Our dedicated team of carers at Bluebird Care Carlisle also provide care and support for many people with life limiting illnesses and that's why Bluebird Care Carlisle has taken the initiative to start this fundraising campaign, and I invite you to join us on this meaningful journey.

It costs £877 for 24 hours of care in Eden Valley and Jigsaw Hospice, so our target it to be able to fund 24 hours of care for a much-loved family member or friend.

Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference. It could fund a comforting hospice bed, provide essential medical equipment, or support the compassionate staff who work tirelessly to bring peace to those in need. Together, we can ensure that Eden Valley Hospice continues to be a haven for those facing the most challenging moments of their lives.

To donate, simply click on the "Donate Now" button and contribute whatever you can. Your generosity will not only support the physical and emotional well-being of patients but will also provide a source of strength for their families. Let's come together as a community and show our solidarity with Eden Valley Hospice.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering a donation to this vital cause.
