SLEEPOUT 2023 - YMCA BURTON · 10 November 2023 ·

One night can make a lifetime of difference to someone who is homeless. Give up your bed for one night and sleep in a cardboard box to help others.

Story

Siblings Blu and Callum are participating in the XTREME edition of this year's 15th sleepout for YMCA Burton. For those who don't know, this will take place at The Pirelli Stadium and the XTREME version in St. Modwen's Church graveyard on the 10th of November. The event involves sleeping under the stars to raise awareness for people experiencing homelessness.

Please spare what you can afford for our fundraiser. We know from personal experience how dedicated the YMCA staff are and how many lives they have changed for the better.

Imagine you have nowhere to sleep tonight. You have lost your home, nowhere to go, frightened and cold. You may find a dry place to rest in a doorway or the rear of some shops. As each day and night changes, your mental health starts to decline, and you have no food or rely on donations from passers-by.

Everyone deserves a place to call home.

Thank you.

Homelessness can happen to any one of us. It has no boundaries and lives & circumstances can change very quickly. No one wakes up & decides to be homeless, there are many reasons & life changing moments that can lead to sleeping rough on the street or sofa surfing night after night. We help people to change lives through a breadth of vital services. We provide homeless outreach, rough sleeper provision, emergency bed space, accommodation, family mediation, counselling, community foodbank, lunch club, support & engagement, complex needs support and have a number of furniture stores providing low cost quality furniture and new white goods. Thanks for supporting us & helping to raise much needed income. The impact of COVID-19 has been felt by everyone. Lives have changed, demand for our services has increased and our income has been significantly affected. We could not continue to do what we do without the help of others. Your help is never more needed than now - Thank you
