Story
On October 26th, 2018, our daughter Kallipateira was Stillborn just two weeks before her due date. As I held Kallipateira in my arms I made her a promise that I would do her proud and continue her legacy by helping to support other parents who have experienced the death of a baby/babies, and to help save babies lives.
On May 16th, 2019, we then experienced a miscarriage at 9 weeks of pregnancy.
The devastation of Kallipateira's death is with me each and every day. The pain does not go away but somehow you must adapt to a different life. I would have given Kallipateira my life for her to be ok. I must now be Kallipateira's voice. Every baby deserves a chance at life.
On May 23rd, 2020, we gave birth to our rainbow baby Apollon Alexandros Moorhouse who was born early at 35 weeks at Saint Marys Hospital in Manchester. After the death of Kallipateira and a miscarriage we knew that to hopefully give Kallipateira a brother or sister with a better outcome we must be cared for by the best in the UK, Professor Alexander Heazell of The Tommy’s Rainbow Clinic and Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre in Manchester. Through the world class care and research, they undertake and put into practice, we are proud to say Apollon is a real-life miracle. If it were not for Alex Heazell he would not be here.
The Kallipateira Moorhouse Foundation supports Alex Heazell and his team in Manchester as our main beneficiary.
Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025
On Saturday 11th October I will take on a special one day event for all the babies who have died and for their families.
October is our most difficult month of the year.
During the day I will be talking about the subject of stillbirth and more to raise further awareness.
It would be nice to raise as much as possible during the day with all the funds raised going to Alex Heazell and his team in Manchester at the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre.
Saturday 11th October 2025
Trooper Lane Halifax x 26
I will take on the famous cobbled climb of Trooper Lane in Halifax a total of 26 times. Kallipateira's 7th birthday is on the 26th October so the 26 times of Trooper Lane is for Kallipateira.
Trooper Lane claims to be the toughest cobbled climb in the Yorkshire area – possibly the whole of England
Trooper Lane to Saint Marys Hospital in Manchester
Via Wainhouse Tower
After my Trooper Lane x 26 I will then walk the 30 miles to Saint Marys Hospital in Manchester via Wainhouse Tower.
Saint Marys is the home of Alex Heazell and his team at the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Centre and Rainbow Clinic.
The route will go through Saddleworth Moor.
