We are run/walking as a family, 5k to be in solidarity with Palestine and support Amos Trust to raise money to rebuild a Palestinian home demolished by the Israeli Occupation Forces and emergency aid to Gaza.

For the past 3 years, Micah and Christy have done 'Run the Wall', and we didn't think that we could do it this year because Micah is undergoing treatement for Leukaemia that makes him very weak. However, Micah really wanted to take up the challenge in solidarity with Palestinians,. As miserable as his treatment has made him feel, he has often said, 'It could be a lot worse if I was in Gaza. I really don't like being in hospital, but I am so grateful we have hospitals that are safe and have medicine."

So although Micah can't run 5k right now, we are going to walk (maybe jog a little??) on 18th February, which is a couple of weeks before the actual event, but it is more doable, as Micah has a little break from chemo before he starts his next intensive round.

We are joining thousands of others around the world (though they are doing it on 1st-2nd March) to Run/Walk 5k in solidarity with Palestinians at the same time the annual Palestine Marathon was due to take place.

Home demolitions, illegal settlements, land confiscations, the illegal Separation Wall. These are daily realities for Palestinians living in the West Bank. 'The Wall' refers to the illegal Separation Wall (750km long) that cuts deep into the West Bank.

In Gaza, nowhere is safe. Over 1% of the population have been killed, 70% of these are women and children, over 50,000 injured and 1.9 million people have been displaced. It is a humanitarian disaster where people are facing starvation and the rapid spread of disease.

Please help Amos Trust raise £60,000 - the £30,000 they need to rebuild a Palestinian home on the West Bank that was destroyed by the Israeli Authorities and £30,000 for emergency relief in Gaza.
