Story

Will you cycle remotely alongside Emmanuel Adjei, a cyclist on a big mission, as he travels back to his roots in an epic solo 10,000km journey from Munich to Accra?

Yes, we are looking for cyclists in any global location – whether novice or professional - to sign up to join Bike 2 My Roots remotely this summer, all with one big aim to raise $100,000 for EduSpots’ work and expansion from 50 to 100 Spots!

And the big news …. up to the first £3000, the donations you get will be DOUBLED!

Who is Emmanuel Adjei?

“My name is Emmanuel Adjei, born in Accra, Ghana and I currently work as a sports scientist at my university’s hospital for sports medicine and sports cardiology in Munich.

Growing up in a sports-enthusiastic nation like Ghana, I excelled in athletics and became a proficient pole vaulter. My affinity for cycling began at age 12, riding my father’s bicycle without permission. However, my newfound hobby was short-lived due to the lack of cycling infrastructure in Ghana. With time, I rekindled my passion for cycling in Munich, Germany.

This cycling project is not solely about seeking the thrills of an adventure of a challenge. Inspired by the saying, “become the change you wish to see in the world,” I am driven to use cycling to mobilize funds, support, and raise awareness to ignite and sustain community-led change through education and empowerment in deprived Ghanaian

communities.' Follow his journey at @bike2myroots on Instagram

You can choose a part of Emmanuel’s route, and cycle alongside him remotely in these spin-off cycle rides:

This could be:

- An individual one-off cycle ride adventure

-A group one-off cycle ride adventure

- Challenging yourself to cycle a distance over a period

- A whole school, office or university team getting behind the journey!

You could do this either on the road or inside on an exercise bike or in a spinning class!
