Story

My story, my reason.....

A big welcome and thank you for taking the time to look at my JustGiving page.

I will be I'm taking part in The Myton Hospices Abseil down Coventry Cathedral to help them raise vital funds and to commemorate the 12th year of my fathers passing who sadly passed away in the beautiful Coventry Myton Hospice on 25th August 2012.

Dear Dad,

I am writing this story to allow other people to read about your passing and as a result of this, I hope that people will make a donation, a donation that might help them, or their loved ones when life is near to passing.

Our world was turned upside down when we were told that you would have to go onto Palliative and End of Life care. We were lucky that Myton agreed to have you moved from the hospital, as I knock on their door and they advised me of the procedure to follow to have you moved. It was such a beautiful, peaceful, surreal and very caring place to stay. Mother and I was allocated a flat to stay in and spend time with you, precious family time, making beautiful memories but feeling overwhelmed and emotional. Without Myton, we wouldn’t have any of these precious memories of your last week of your life.

Now that you have passed, life has changed for all, we have faced many challenges and difficulties but above all, I will still continue to do my best to make you the proudest man on earth, my hero, my idle, my dad. I won’t let you down dad and I won’t let my donators down.

I have never done anything like this before and I certainly never want to do it again. This decision was not made lightly and I am actually petrified but I will find strength on the day to do it. The strength I was gifted from my dad. You gave me your DNA to be fearless and to never be afraid.

I'm even practicing in my garden with my umbrella so wish me good luck!

Your loving daughter,

Beverley

I would love for other to have the same opportunities and experience when it come to End of Life care. So all donations will be so welcomed.

I understand that the raise in the economy and household income are becoming tight but I would be most grateful if you would support this cause with a donation. It does not need to be much, but anything that you could give would make a huge difference to all the families who look to Myton for care.

Everyone will be welcome to come and watch, I will give the details nearer the time.
