Thank you for visiting our page.On 27/08/21 Carrianne Franks, my daughter, at the age of 30 died of TB.Carrianne was a Sergeant, Flight Nurse in the RAF. Carrianne was funny, gregarious, tenacious, dedicated, a stickler for the rules whilst still being loving and passionate about things and people she cared about. Just before Covid 19 Carrianne was posted to a hospital in London where she worked on the intensive care unit supporting her NHS colleagues in the daily challenges offering nursing care. During Covid, Carrianne continued to work in the hospital on the front line caring for Covid patients and was one of the first nurses that worked in the Nightingale Hospital in London. Once the covid pandemic started to ease Carrianne was promoted and returned to her favourite place of RAF Brize Norton, working on the Tactical Medical Wing supporting our sick and injured military personnel.Carrianne started to become ill, in July 2021 she was admitted to two hospitals over the next 8 weeks. After many false diagnoses of both covid and pneumonia she was finally diagnosed as having TB, she died the next day. On the weekend of 10th Feb 2024 Carrianne would have been 33 years old. A Team of Carrianne's family and friends are aiming to walk 33km in celebration of a life, that was far too short and raise money for both TB Alert and the RAF Benevolent Fund as a 50/50 split.TB Alert’s work in the UK focuses on making sure people with TB are diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible, and supporting them through treatment, to ensure that they don’t become seriously ill or pass TB on to others.The RAF Benevolent Fund is a charity close to Carrianne's heart as she completed many fundraising events on their behalf.We are hoping to raise as much money as possible to assist these valuable charities.The Team consists of;Bev Franks - me, Carrianne's mumChris FranksJake FranksTracy MiddletonChris MiddletonPhoebe MiddletonJames BaldingMichelle Wright.Molly GashDave GashLizzie CampSteph IrvineLeah SparksHayley NeedesLara JonesAndrea SnapeCait CalvertSophie HoggSadie Melling
