Story
After starting my new position as Head of Year 8 at Archbishop Temple High school, I have had the privilege of working with some incredible young people. Young people who are empathetic and kind towards others. Which is why, as a year group, we are continuously fundraising for the crucial charity 'Lancashire Mind'. Lancashire Mind provides support for individuals who are struggling with their mental health and to start the important conversation surrounding mental health in young people.
I am inspired by many of our pupils who work tirelessly to ensure that their friends are happy and positive and enjoying their school experience. So, because of being motivated every day by such wonderful pupils - I have decided to follow in their footsteps and join them with their fundraising.
I have never been a runner in my life; unless taking part in the 5k challenge during lockdown counts. However, this year, I have decided to take on the challenge of a half marathon to help raise money for Lancashire Mind. I hope that taking on something that is very much alien to me, will show the pupils that they can achieve anything that they put their mind to. They can see that pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can result in wonderful outcomes.
Thank you to anyone that takes the time to read my page and has the ability to donate in any way they can. I massively appreciate it.
Beth (Miss Murphy).
