Zambia is one of the poorest countries in the world, with high rates of HIV/AIDS playing an exacerbating role. An overwhelming 1.2 million children are orphaned in Zambia due to AIDS in a population of just 17 million. However, harrowing statistics like these are improving with the support of a a global network of development and aid projects meaning life expectancy at birth has risen from under 50 to over 62 years old in just the last 12 years (United Nations).

In summer 2023, I will be embarking on a 8-week project to use sport as a tool for development with the Zambian community. I will be taking on the role of Netball development Officer and hope to share my love of the sport with the Zambian people.

To raise money for this I will be running, walking, cycling and swimming the equivalent of the length of Ireland (486km) between now and Summer 2023.

Any support you could give to this amazing cause would be much appreciated and would makes such an amazing difference in the Zambian people's lives.
