Pedal 4 Poverty 2024
Campaign by EMMS International (RCN SC032327)
It's time to get on your bike and take on this amazing challenge to help the most vulnerable people from the cycle of poverty. Wherever you are and whatever the distance, join us in our cycling challenge this August, September and October!

Story

EMMS International stands for the reduction of health inequalities in the world's poorest communities. In 2001, my husband and I cycled the Three Seas from Sea of Galilee, via the Dead Sea to the Red Sea. And in 2006 we trekked almost 100 miles through the Sinai Desert. Both trips raised thousands of pounds for the work of EMMS. Thanks to their workers, they are able to boost healthcare for those with non-communicable diseases, build healthcare work forces, respond to emergencies and create cheap, green energy solutions for healthcare facilities in Malawi, Nepal, India, Rwanda, Zambia and in the UK. I have had 2 knee replacements in recent years, so no longer go out on my bike. But I will try to cycle 100 miles between 1 August and 31 October this year , though sometimes will be indoors , as I am now over 80 years old and not as brave as I used to be !!
