Maggie's is Major Recruitment's new Charity of the Year, and so I wanted to be the first fundraiser of the year.

In 10 days I'll be attempting the Berlin Marathon! That's right, the tickets are booked, my bags are packed (ish) and I'm ready to go run 26.219 miles around Berlin.....well, as ready as I'll ever be.

I have self funded my run, so all flights and fees have been paid by myself and not by the charity. Which means, every single penny I raise will go straight into the hands of Maggie's - which is amazing!

If you haven't heard of Maggie's before. they are a chairty that supports people with cancer and their families from 24 centres across the UK.

All their support is free of charge and they welcome everyone – people with a current or past cancer diagnosis, their family members, friends and those who have lost a loved one to cancer. Maggie’s professional cancer support specialists, psychologists, benefits advisors and sessional staff help patients navigate the complexities of their cancer diagnosis through a personalised programme of support.

Their long-term mission is to be there for everyone with cancer in the UK, at all 60 NHS cancer centre hospitals so everyone living with cancer has access to the expert emotional and practical support they so desperately need.
