Over the next year between now and the end of August 2024, I will be taking part in a number of rather wacky or unorthodox events, races and challenges in not the most conventional manner in aid of The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is dedicated to the emotional, physical & financial wellbeing of construction workers & their families. They provide a range of free pro-active resources to support the industry. Their free & confidential 24/7 Helpline & text HARDHAT service offers a range of information, guidance & support. These services are complemented by their free Self Support App. They receive no public funding so rely on the industry to 'support their own'. Every penny raised helps make a difference to a construction worker in need.

Construction is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Every physical safety measure is taken to protect workers, yet in the UK and Ireland the industry loses two workers every working day, not to the physical dangers associated with the job, but to suicide.

As someone who has worked within in the construction industry for most of my career and lived with anxiety for many years, this is something very personal to me as my family and and some of my longstanding clients understand.

No person in crisis should be alone and add working alone with the stresses and strains of managing a business, employing staff and supporting a family it can feel like a very lonely world so lets #MakeItVisible
