Story

In February 2024, my team and I will embark on a journey to Tanzania, where I am set to achieve a remarkable feat—ascending and descending Mount Kilimanjaro by walking backward. This challenge marks a world first and a Guinness World Record attempt, positioning me as not only the third person ever to summit the mountain in reverse but also the first European and the initial individual since 2016.

Our decision to undertake this endeavour is driven by a noble cause—we aim to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

I want to do this in memory of my grandfather, who tragically succumbed to a heart attack. He always said he was "far too young to have one and pass away." Now, he's a voice, a thought, and a reason why I must accomplish amazing things to ensure more people don't overlook their heart conditions. - Ben

Heart disease and related issues affect us all, whether through personal experiences or connections with family, friends, or, in my case, clients who have witnessed the impact of heart problems on their loved ones. - Naim

Realising the challenges I faced on Ben's previous backwards walks, preparing for Kilimanjaro demanded significant changes. I had to lose weight, improve fitness, and enhance cardio, aligning with the British Heart Foundation's guidelines. As an average, unfit guy, I will take on Kilimanjaro in support of this cause. - Gordon

As a family man, I have 2 little ones and a loving wife and its going to be a huge challenge being away from them for so long, but I'm taking on Kilimanjaro in support of a brighter future for those who have or will be affected by heart issues. it could be anyone - Perry

The BHF has been crucial in lowering mortality rates related to heart and circulatory diseases in the UK. However, daily losses highlight the persistent need for support. Your generosity enables the BHF to pioneer treatments and discover cures. For example, £24 could fund two hours of research by an early career scientist. Every pound matters, so please contribute what you can to help us reach our fundraising goal.

We sincerely appreciate your visit to this page and any donations made towards our project. We eagerly anticipate sharing our success with everyone involved.

See you at the peak! 🗻
