Story
Friends,
I am riding from London to Paris this September to help find a cure for Follicular Lymphoma (FL) - a type of blood cancer that is currently incurable.
There are around 2,000 people diagnosed with FL every year in the UK and globally there are over one million people living with FL.
I was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma in 2017.
I seemed to manage the ‘physical’ recovery from my treatment, which included chemotherapy in 2017/2018, but failed to recognise and address the ‘mental health’ implications a chronic illness such as FL can cause longer-term.
To get a better understanding and learn ways of managing my mental health, I more recently sought support and became active with charitable groups including:
Shine Cancer Support (https://shinecancersupport.org/)
Lymphoma Action (https://lymphoma-action.org.uk/) and
The Follicular Lymphoma Foundation (https://www.theflf.org/about-us/)
The money I raise will go to The Follicular Lymphoma Foundation who are driving research into better treatments and are putting all their efforts into finding the fastest pathway to a cure. Their programmes have real momentum and are already making incredible progress.
Thanks for your sponsorship and thank you also to those of you who have been such a great support over these challenging years!
