Story

On 7th May 2024, cars will set off from Dover Ferry Port and begin their 5 day journey down to Benidorm as part of the European Road Rally, Benidorm Bangers.

Benidorm Bangers is a navigational challenge and charity rally across Europe with daily challenges along the route and a chance to see some of the best scenery Europe has to offer.

Taking part again are former Historic Stock Car and Banger drivers Tristan Matthews [87], Gordon 'King Basher' Coull [510] and Nik 'Cruncher' Wickham [71]. Plus the addition of the notorious Brighton Basher, Steve 'Showtime' Ovett [207].

The team have recycled the Morris Oxford they used for the rally in 2023 and as the winners of the coveted 'Best Car' award they are now number 01.

With the support of the racing community, local businesses and a JustGiving page the 2023 rally team raised just over £10,000 for Parkinson’s UK. A charity close to their hearts as Tristan was diagnosed with the condition in 2016.

Tristan explained how he first noticed symptoms, when he developed a tremor in his hand. He now takes medication every day to relieve these and other symptoms. Life has changed quite significantly since his diagnosis and Tristan says that having to give up driving has been one of the hardest things to adjust to.

This year they hope to achieve the same. Please donate what you can every little helps, and 100% of the profits goes to Parkinson's UK.
