Story
In April and May 2024, I will be cycling solo from Basingstoke to Benidorm (around 1,700km) for The Pink Place in Basingstoke.
Although the NHS is amazing in what it does for Cancer treatment, there is no additional capacity for wellbeing support. Imagine going through Cancer treatment with no one to talk to other than your friends and family. That's an added burden on those closest to you, potentially just seeing your suffering but never fully understanding.
The Pink Place offers that support (and so much more) to people in North Hampshire, with counselling, groups and social activities where people can meet up with each other and discuss their different experiences.
There are tears and plenty of shoulders to cry on, but there is also laughter and support when you may need it most.
The Pink Place also offers yoga, well-being sessions, hair and beauty advice sessions, as well as well-being treatments, such as massage.
This takes money, and sadly, numbers are rising. So, please help me to help them help others. With half the population potentially being affected by Cancer, our Basingstoke and Alton communities need this support more than ever.
Thanks, Craig x
