Big Walk for the Homeless - Walking the Thames Path · 8 June 2025

Studies show that those who are homeless walk between 10 and 15 miles per day to meet basic needs like food and shelter. This Summer we are asking supporters to take on our walking challenge to raise awareness and vital funds to tackle homelessness.

Story

Helloooooo

We are hoping to raise funds for the phenomenal work that the Restart Lives Charity does in empowering the homeless. They provide wraparound casework and group programmes aimed at encouraging each person to take their steps forward.

Studies show that those who are homeless walk between 10 and 15 miles per day to meet basic needs like food and shelter and Restart Lives are organising a ‘big walk for the homeless’ to raise awareness and vital funds more details here -

As part of this, we three guys of middling fitness are endeavouring to traverse the mighty thames path (298km in all!) from tamesis (old roman name for the thames) to isis (a name used for the early section of the thames) – travelling from Woolwich to near Cirencester in as short a time as possible. After 3 walks we are currently averaging 33.5 km per walk!

Please find it in your hearts to donate to this good cause and the great work that Restart do! And please do look into any other ways you would like to support as well!

Thank you!

The fellas.
