Story
Cycling solo from the Bay of Fundy to the Gulf of Mexico
This summer I will be setting out on a charity bike ride challenge to cycle solo from the top to the bottom of the United States, following the Eastern Seaboard from the Bay of Fundy in Canada all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. It's a journey that tracks the historic and fractured Atlantic coastline through two Canadian Provinces and fourteen US States, passing through many iconic locations along the way, from New England, Boston & New York City to Chesapeake Bay, Savannah & the Florida Keys
I'll be raising money for the Nobel Prize-winning charity Humanity & Inclusion, or Hi, who work alongside disabled and vulnerable people in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster, wherever they are in the world. There are so many innocent victims, particularly of the conflict in Ukraine at the moment, and Hi do incredible work to support them at their time of greatest need. Please help me to help them by sponsoring my trip.
As on previous adventures, I'll be posting on my blog in the build up to leaving the UK (in late June), then post daily updates throughout the trip itself. You can follow me and my blog here: https://incidentsoftravel.com
This trip is in memory of my dear mum, Christine Buckton MBE, who died in January of this year.
About the charity:
Humanity & Inclusion
Humanity & Inclusion is an independent charity working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. We work tirelessly alongside disabled and vulnerable people to help meet their basic needs, improve living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.
Last year we supported millions of people around the world, providing rehabilitation, artificial limbs, inclusion activities and psychological assistance.
With your help, we can continue to provide this vital support for years to come!
