Story
Hi, I’m Ben, my dad works for Brushstrokes Community Project . I’ve seen and heard the difference that this project makes, giving people hope, supporting families and helping people feel safe. I wanted to do something to help , so I’m doing Tough Mudder North West on the 19th October to raise money for this Project. I’ll do the 15K+ of obstacles and mud, can you give to this project?
Since 1999 , Brushstroke Community Project, part of Father Hudson’s Society, has provided welcome and support to some of the most vulnerable people in Sandwell, Birmingham and Dudley ¬- addressing poverty, providing welcome and working in solidarity with the hidden poor ¬- Brushstrokes provides essential services that help people feel part of the community and rebuild their lives.
The project provides English language classes and IT skills, practical help through food and clothing, specialist advice on employment, housing, benefit , health and immigration, family support and health and wellbeing activities.
They work with people who are homeless, victims of trafficking, those who experienced domestic abuse, new refugees and migrant workers, asylum seekers and families affected by the cost- of-living crisis.
For people who often have no family or social networks to call on to support them with the challenges they face, Brushstrokes team of staff and volunteers are often the first and last resort.
Each week hundreds of people receive support which is helping people move into employment or volunteering opportunities, secure accommodation, access services they need, improve their health, gain language skills and settle in our community. Since April 2021 over 18500 people have been supported by the project and the need continues to grow.
Help me to help support the ongoing work of Brushstrokes.
