Story
This year, I've set myself some very ambitious targets. I am taking on a series of challenging events to support North East Wales Mind, a charity that helps people in Flintshire and Wrexham recover from mental health problems and stay emotionally healthy.
First up is the Wrexham Half Marathon in February, followed by the Chester 10k in March and the Manchester Marathon in April. But my biggest challenge will be the Iron Man Wales, which takes place in September. It's going to be tough, but I'm determined to push myself to the limit.
I won't be doing this alone. Some of my P&A colleagues will be joining me on these events, showing their support for this important cause. Together, we're aiming to raise £10,000 for North East Wales Mind.
Why is this cause so important? Well, research shows that every year, 1 in 4 people experience stress, anxiety, depression or another type of mental distress. That means over 59,000 people in Flintshire and Wrexham are likely to be affected this year alone. We want to make sure they have access to the support they need.
North East Wales Mind provides a range of services including information and advice, social groups, peer support, counselling, training, holistic therapies and activities such as creative arts and walking. They are making a real difference in our community.
So here's my ask: please consider supporting our fundraising efforts for North East Wales Mind. Your donation will help ensure that people facing mental health challenges get the help they need to recover and thrive.
Thank you for your generosity!
