Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

May 2024, we’re embarking on a six-day Jurassic Coast Sea kayak trip with the aim to raising over £1000 for St Luke’s Hospice.

We will launch from Kimmeridge (West of Bournemouth) where we will hug the rugged coastline towards Brixham a journey over 140km without any support and wild camping along the beaches on the way.

It's been over five years since we faced such an enduring and challenging journey, and we haven't forgotten about the physical pains and the mental strength required from our last trip. However our motivation and determination this time around is even stronger as both our lives have since been impacted by Cancer, having witnessed loved ones fight against this ruthless disease. We know the pain, we have shared the fear. But amidst all this, we've seen hope, resilience, and indomitable human spirit. This sea voyage is our tribute to every cancer warrior we've known, and our effort to honour their battles.

My Mum supported us on our previous Sea kayak trip following us along the coast line on land. However after returning from teaching in a Tanzania school later that same year she was diagnosed for stage 4 lung cancer which she has been battling for the past four years with her health recently rapid deteriorating.

Ben’s sister Netha was also diagnosed with Cancer and sadly spent her last week at St Luke’s Hospice before passing away. Its an amazing service they provide for people going through the hardest of times. Providing immense support to people like our families, giving them strength during their darkest hours.

These charities are more than just organizations; they are the embodiment relentless compassion. Ben and I have experienced first hand the important work they carry out every day.

We appeal to each one of you to support us in this endeavour. No contribution is too small; every donation goes a long way in making a real difference.
