Story
I decided to run 10k for Aid Box Community (ABC) because I wanted to do something that would make a difference to the lives of people seeking sanctuary from conflict and persecution in Bristol. I wanted to do something that would contribute to making these wonderful and deserving individuals and families feel safe, welcomed and loved.
The funds I raise from this challenge will go to support the charity’s Free Shop & Crisis Fund, that provide free essential and emergency living items, and the charity's regular sporting and social activities, that create opportunities for recreation and community.
When talking to ABC’s ex-service users, now established community members, they often refer to the charity as a second family. They say that having been able to access the charity’s services and feel welcomed and valued did not simply help them change their circumstances, it gave them confidence, hope and belonging. I think it takes a very special group of people to do this and it has been the reason I have dedicated myself to this charity and cause. Please support me and help us spread the message that humanity knows no borders!
