Story
Hi. I am challenging myself to complete the Three Peak challenge. The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours.
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft). The total driving distance is 462 miles.
I am doing this in aid of Norwich City Community Sports Foundation. They help thousands of children and adults through sport. They're a fantastic charity, their charitable objectives are driving inclusion for people with disabilities, boosting mental health and wellbeing, and supporting disadvantaged people to raise their aspirations.
20% of people in Norfolk have a disability, which is higher than the national average. The Foundation works to provide inclusive environments that meet the needs of those taking part, so that they may enjoy the benefits of sport.
An estimated 38,000 people in Norfolk experience loneliness. They use the physical and social benefits of sport to improve people’s mental health and physical wellbeing. Their work helps to combat loneliness, anxiety, and inactivity for people in Norfolk.
Norfolk has the third highest school exclusion rate among rural counties. Sport and Norwich City Football Club are powerful tools for engaging with harder to reach groups and inspiring them to raise their aspirations, and reach their potential.
Any donation will be truly appreciated, however big or small.
Thank you for reading.
