Fundraising for Blythe House Hospice
Blythe House Hospicecare provide free care and services to adults and children who are affected by life-limiting illnesses, across the High Peak, Hope Valley, Derbyshire Dales and North East Derbyshire.
The hospice in Chapel-en-le-Frith provides patients with specialist clinics, physio, occupational therapy, carer support, counselling & bereavement support.
The Hospice at Home service enables patients with advanced illness to be cared for at home, and to die at home with their loved ones by their side, if that is their wish.
When Nanny Wendy was diagnosed with terminal cancer in May 2022, with the help of the incredible team of volunteer carers, my family and I were able to care for her during the last weeks of her life in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by everything that was familiar. With their help we bathed her, medicated her, kept her warm and comfortable and she always had someone by her side, whether that had been a member of our family or the Blythe House family, she was never alone.
This is my 3rd fundraiser for Blythe House having already raised over £10,000 by running Congleton Half Marathon and the prestigious TCS London Marathon. What better way to continue the thanks than by embarking on the trip of a lifetime to Morocco and trekking 50km, over 3 days, in the Sahara.
Jess and I are incredibly greatful for everyone support and can’t wait to take on the challenge.
Myself, Jess and everyone at Blythe House will be forever greatful 🩵
Thank you!! 🤩
