Why run one marathon when you can run two?
I’m not sure if that’s an actual saying but it seems as mad as most of the things I end up deciding to do when it comes to both running.
But this time it’s different. I’m not just running 2 marathons (Brighton then Manchester) in 2 weekends for fun. I’m doing it for a damn good cause
Ella’s works with women who have survived trafficking and sexual exploitation. They offer safe house accommodation for women when they are most vulnerable, care to help them recover and long-term community-based support to help them build safe, independent lives.
'On my first day at Ella’s, it felt like being welcomed home. I slept that night for the first time in two weeks,' says Sharon, who lives in one of Ella's safe houses.
I first came across Ella’s via an event that I host for women in property and interiors. I always refrain from calling it networking, because it is so much more. I’ve built friendships and experienced genuine camaraderie from women who cheer each other on, prop each other up, share advice and lots of laughs. Over the last 4 years I’ve been supported by my fellow business women through some dark and tough times. I’m grateful for each of these women and feel lucky to have met them. We’ve supported Ella’s through the events and this is my opportunity to really give back. Not just to support the women that Ella’s helps but to say thank you to everyone who has been there for me too.
Every single act of support helps make this work possible. Thank you for helping to unlock freedom.
