Story
I on a quick flash decision decided to enter the Nottingham 10K on Sunday 3rd March 2024. I used to be a national level distance runner for many years so running used to be quite a big part of my life and I know how beneficial it is to mental health, but unfortunately I had to stop.
I suffer from anxiety and depressive symptoms myself & I have recently lost a childhood friend to suicide. So I know how underfunded and how difficult it is to access mental health services when we need them, hence why I’ve decided to try and earn a few pennies for Mind.
The number of people accessing Nottinghamshire Mind's services is increasing. We want to help them all but can only do that if we have funds in place.
The Run For All Nottingham 10K is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for our Community Support programme of drop-ins, 1-2-1s, phone support, chat app and creative workshops, while improving your own mental and physical health.
By raising £50 you'll fund two sessions at a #Well Cafe, bringing people together, to support each other and reduce isolation. Go above and beyond and hit a £100 target and you'll enable us to provide a full programme of 1-2-1 sessions for someone experiencing mental health problems, helping them to work through problems, enable recovery and build resilience.
Every pound raised really does make a difference - and we thank you and your supporters for your choosing Nottinghamshire Mind.
