Story
In 2022, our family’s life was turned upside down by the diagnosis of my wife, Alyson, with Her2+ breast cancer. Innocently sat down one night for a Friday movie night and she noticed her right breast was swollen. By Tuesday were told the news she had breast cancer
After almost a year of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a full mastectomy surgery, we thought we were coming out of the woods and the nightmare was ending…
But almost exactly one year on from the original diagnosis, in March 2023 we were told, after some uncharacteristic headaches, that the cancer had spread into her brain in 17 places
Alyson continues to fight (and what a fight she is putting up!!) and she is doing well and we look to enjoy our lives and love each other massively along with our two sons, Max and Miles, 7 and 3
I am going to taking on the London marathon in 2025, but not only am I going to run this iconic race, I intend to run faster than I ever have and attempt a time of sub 2:40 which is a championship qualifying time
I’ll be channelling Alyson’s grit and determination to push for this lofty goal.
So, I am supporting Breast Cancer Now, the charity that’s steered by world-class research and powered by life-changing support. Hopefully one day soon this horrible disease can be fought and won against once and for all!
