Story
Dear Friends
I recently completed the "5k a day in June" challenge to raise funds and awareness for FareShare.
I've been running 5k a day between 1st and 30th June (that's 150K in the month) to support the amazing work of Fareshare to get surplus food and meals to those who need it most.
FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors. They take good quality surplus food from across the food industry and get it to nearly 8,500 frontline charities and community groups.
The food they redistribute reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, community cafes and food banks. Every week they provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people.
Over 3 million tonnes of good to eat surplus food goes to waste in the UK food industry every year, meanwhile millions are facing food insecurity.
Fareshare helps communities by taking good food, that would otherwise go to waste, and getting it to local charities who use it to support people in their communities.
Help FareShare stop food waste and feed the people who need it most.
Every £10 raised will help provide the equivalent of forty meals.
Will you join #TeamFareShare and kindly give what you can to support the amazing work that Fareshare is doing ?
Thank you xx
