PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK.

Batala Lancaster are a community Samba Reggae Drumming band based in Lancaster, UK. Each year all Batala Lancaster drummers are invited to propose a charity that we fundraise for in the coming year.  Papyrus is our chosen charity for our 2023-2024 gigging season.  We raise money through charity busking events - please keep an eye on the updates section for details on these events.
