Story
The Walled Garden in Barshaw Park is a beautiful space that is maintained by volunteers who are members of Friends of Barshaw Park. Recently, we were devastated to discover that the yard behind the garden had been broken into and maliciously damaged. The doors to our tool-sheds had been forced open and the doors destroyed. Tools were broken or scattered about the yard, and some had even been set on fire. The damage will cost hundreds of pounds to repair, which is a significant amount for our small charity.
Our volunteers have been working tirelessly over the past few months to clear the yard and create a usable space for our volunteers and for the community. We have ambitions to see the derelict outbuildings restored and put to use as studios and workshops, but at present, these buildings are unsafe. We are deeply concerned for anyone who might intrude or enter them.
That's why we urgently need your help. We would like to raise funds to enable us to erect steel palisade fencing and a gate to prevent intruders in the future. Our target amount is 2,000 GBP, which will allow us to secure this beautiful space for everyone in our community.
We would be incredibly grateful for any amount you can donate towards this cause. Your support will make a real difference in helping us protect this valuable resource for generations to come.
If you would like to volunteer your time or skills in any way, we would love to hear from you.
