Lands End to John O'Groats for APRS

Love Your Countryside
Campaign by APRS (RCN SC016139)
Whether you live there or visit; whether you are walking or wandering; picnicking or litter-picking; our countryside is special. We want to help people enjoy, protect and love Scotland’s wonderful countryside. Please support our appeal!

Story

I've been cycling and walking with a hope raise £1,406 by completing a 1,406km challenge—the distance between Land's End and John o'Groats.

I'm raising money for APRS (Action to Protect Rural Scotland). My colleagues' fundraising efforts have inspired me to take on my own challenge.

By logging activities on a virtual challenge app to keep track of everything, I've been able to track my progress and it has been a great way to start cycling again, something I never expected, and build up my fitness.

Don't worry if you can't support the challenge financially, words of encouragement or sharing the fundraiser will certainly help too.

The challenge must be completed by August 31st 2024, and despite a few set backs (the bike, health, weather !) I'm set to complete the challenge in April.

About APRS

Anyone who gives £40 or more will also receive a membership of APRS as a thank you!

APRS is a small organisation and campaign to protect, enhance and promote Scotland’s countryside and rural landscapes for everyone’s benefit. They help support local people to protect local nature from unsustainable development through the Green Belt Alliance. They also campaign for Scotland's national parks, and raising awareness of how vital the countryside is for people in Scotland.

You can find out more about the Love Your Countryside campaign from the APRS website.
