Story
Following the earthquake in Turkey & Syria on 06/02/23, emergency crisis appeals have been launched to help provide crisis response operations and mobilisation of disaster recovery to help address the significant impact on people living in or around the southeast border of Turkey and Northern Syria.
We are seeing reports of death, injury and families separated, along with damage to homes and other infrastructure in the country. With a rising death toll (currently reporting 11,000 who have died), and many thousands more injured and incapacitated, appeals for support and recovery are being raised across the world.
We are always mindful of donating to or supporting charities where we can help them reach their objectives, providing care, support, and consideration to improve the lives of others. The broader and longer-term impacts of the situation in Turkey and Syria affected areas are hard to forecast.
Unsurprisingly, most charities are creating urgent appeals for help in the immediacy of the crisis period to ensure vital charitable support is delivered to those in need wherever possible.
In addition to Barnett Waddingham making a donation of £10,000, if you would like to make a personal donation to help the humanitarian response efforts being provided by the British Red Cross, please use this JustGiving page and Gift Aid can be applied given the donation type.
