Bare all for the Bears, 6 July 2024
Project Bear
Campaign by The Wildheart Trust (RCN 1171144)
Help us rescue two restaurant bears from Azerbaijan, Balu and Benji, and build them an amazing new enclosure at our Sanctuary and arrange transport to their new forever home (after our sponsored flight devastatingly fell through).

Story

Swim the Wight, Dip’n’Society are doing with The Wildheart Team a *skinny dip that will hopefully raise as much as possible for the rescue of Balu & Benji….

Brothers Benji and Balu have spent most of their lives on the side of a restaurant, surviving off scraps from the restaurant and customers. Animal welfare standards are low in Azerbaijan with limited enforcement of the few legal protections that exist. Both bears were malnourished and had significant damage to their teeth from bar-biting, a common stress indicator. The damage to Balu’s teeth was so severe that he had to have two teeth extracted upon examination.

We have a suitable area earmarked within our site but we need your help to create an inspiring place for our rescue bears to call home.

Every pound raised can help us reach our goal of £150,000 to ensure a suitable home and transport for these worthy animals.

Join us on Saturday 6th July (see below) meet up in the The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary car park for 9pm and take part in the *skinny dip at 9.30pm. The Flying Coffee Machine, will be there in the car park, ready with hot drinks to buy after and all profits will be donated to the rescue fund. All we ask is that you please donate a minimum of £10 and let’s help give these deserving bears a second chance at life by donating today!

Swim the Wight and Dip’n’Society both swim in the Bay and are joining forces to do what we love for this amazing project and will be providing in person support to all that come and take part on the night.

*skinny dip, nudity is completely upto you and if you don’t want to streak across the beach, you can pop off & on your swimwear once in the sea and if you don’t fancy any of it you can just donate to support those that are doing it!!

⚠️PLEASE BE AWARE - subject to the weather and sea condition postponement may be at short notice for safety reasons alone.
