We were very saddened on 16th July 2024 to lose Barbara Brittain - known to many as Brit - to cancer. Her illness was short and she remained active right up to her final days and so this news has been a shock to many.

She was a loving sister to Jo Ellis, a fabulous Aunt to her two nephews, Tim and Mark, and a doting Great Aunt to Harriet and Gillian. She remained wonderfully independent throughout her life and was always quick to offer help, support and guidance to those around her. She leaves us with a lifetime of happy memories and we will miss her immensely.

She spent her working life as a Police Officer and played a major part in the careers of many others through her time as a Sergeant at Ryton-on-Dunsmore Police Training College.
