Story
This June I will be walking a 5K circuit around Battersea Park to raise funds for the Hindu Society.
The Hindu Society is a community centre in Wandsworth, born over 50 years ago. It is not only a place to come together for prayer; but a safe space for its members, young and old, to celebrate, learn and support each other.
My late parents, Mr Madan Mohan Lal Tandon and Mrs Sneh Lata Tandon, were founding members of the Society and it is the relationships they built here which shaped my family's life in London. Today, I am proud to continue their work as a Trustee, and it was a privilege to see the Society reopen last year after a series of renovations. All fundraising efforts moving forward will allow our footprint as a cultural hub for future generations to grow. Money raised will support the Society to provide pastoral care for the community; a Senior Citizens Lunch Club; Dance Lessons; Hindi Classes for children and much more.
Any support for this walk would mean the world to me, and if you are able to cheer me on from the side-lines, even better, I'd love to see you there!
All my best,
Balraj
