Story
Five generations of the Daoud family have honed their jewelry business model based on intense community engagement, concierge service, exquisite inventory, and a great sense of humor. So, it’s no surprise that after years of spending summers and holiday vacations during her school years working alongside her uncle Patrick to learn the business, Baileigh Daoud-Soricelli has joined the iconic Daoud’s Fine Jewelry family business herself.
With over 100 years in business, Baileigh Daoud-Soricelli is extremely proud of the fact that 20,000+ jewelers operate in the US, yet only 90 family-owned jewelers still exist. Of the 90 family-owned jewelry businesses, Daoud’s is the oldest of all family-owned fine jewelers in Florida. Daoud’s Fine Jewelry dates back to Baileigh’s great-great-grandfather. The business was started in 1895 in Atlantic City and celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2025. Although there is tremendous history behind the family name and brand, Baileigh looks forward with excitement about the future of the business and her impact on the community.
This dynamic mother of 2-year-old Jacob is a self-proclaimed traditionalist with solid family values and a sense of community. She and her husband, Jeff Soricelli, are members of the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. Baileigh is an extremely dedicated mom, wife, businesswoman, and health activist.
Diagnosed at ten years old with type 1 diabetes, Baileigh is compassionate and recognizes the challenges that people face. “I understand the long-term effects of being a child who was ‘different’ because I had to have regular insulin shots throughout my school career. I was the kid who had to be sent to the nurse’s office for monitoring and couldn’t eat the same foods that all the other kids did. Type1 diabetes is an auto-immune disease that requires irreversible insulin for life.” Having diabetes during pregnancy added a layer of concern for her unborn child, so when she was asked to appear in a video for diabetic research to promote healthy pregnancies for diabetics, she jumped at the chance. She gives great praise to her endocrinologist, Dr. Miranda-Palma at the University of Miami, and the technological advances that are now available to people with type 1 diabetes.
In addition to their busy work schedules. Baileigh reflects, “I want to be the voice for those who cannot secure the treatments and services they need for a healthy life. People deserve support from their community and not have to worry about expenses and treatment options on their journey. As friends and neighbors, our job is to support our community and lift people up to give them hope.”
We are thrilled and excited to welcome Baileigh Daoud-Soricelli as a 2024 GLAMMY AWARD honoree and can’t wait to see the magic she will bring to the community throughout the coming years.
