Brie’s fundraiser for Younger People With Dementia CIO

Triathlon · 1 July 2023
Here we go again! Brie doing a triathlon this time and on a mission to check in with her mind and body, as well as raise awareness and donations for an incredible charity.
I have been part of the YPWD family for 11 years running the the Harmony Choir and it’s been a journey thus far! We were even featured on on BBC programme ‘Our Dementia Choir’ with Vicky McClure.
This incredible charity work to support younger people with dementia through weekly activities, spreading the awareness of early onset dementia. The team work really hard making sure the needs of those who are part of the charity are met. They also have a brilliant team of volunteers who quite often are family members of loved ones with dementia.
It’s a big beautiful family of people who are there to pick each other up when days are tough. We sing, laugh, cook, garden, create art, everything one needs to bring out the fun in life.
This charity is close to my heart and I’m prepared to put my body though some intense training to get past that finish line with a sense of achievement.
Aside from the fundraiser, I wanted to check in with myself after losing my Mum, my 17 year old cat Pedro and my dear friend Rob within the last 2 years. Loss and grief is unexplainable. Keeping your mind and body in check is really important… so here I am doing what’s right by me so I can continue to give service to my community.
Most of you think I’m nuts… you’d be correct.
It would mean a lot if you donated to this amazing cause and I’ll be posting my training along the way!
